S/Urge (2013)

S/Urge came from my attempts to bear the unbearable: a tsunami traveling safely in a boat kept from its course of destruction, inspired by a post tsunami dream of a Hokusai boat and wave moving flatly towards me as I watched fascinated and unmoving. I can’t help but connect the unreal dream to the effects distance and safety have on watching events from afar.
